Many people have never heard of the name of Dachang Island, which has always been hidden. But friends who have watched "The Machinist 2" may have an impression. When Jason Statham went to find Michelle Yeoh, although the official announcement was that it was Koh Lipe, the actual outlying island he arrived at was Koh Tao Chang! Come now while this place is not over-developed and there is no one and no one and no one and no one and no one is here!
Da Long Island is roughly located in the waters of Phang Nga Bay between the west side of Phuket Island and the east side of Krabi Province. It is also the largest outlying island near Phuket and is known as the last "paradise" on the Andaman Sea.
It is named after its long and narrow shape, and its Chinese name is also transliterated as: Yaoya Island. The island has a permanent population of about 8,000 people.
As we all know, Thailand is a country of faith, but what is special about Chang Chang Island is that most of the island residents believe in Islam.
Why come to Changdao
Because it has not been fully developed yet, it completely avoids the bustling tourist groups and keeps the island clean. Compared with Phi Phi Island next to Da Chang Island, it can be said to be sparsely populated~
And the distance to Da Chang Island is much closer than Phi Phi Island~
On this quiet island, find a resort, stay for a few days, and relax. Away from the crowds and enjoying the pure blue sea and sky alone, isn't this the essence of vacation?
The best season in Grand Long Island
Thailand has a tropical monsoon climate. There are three seasons a year, namely hot season (mid-February to mid-May), rainy season (late May to mid-October) and cool season (November to mid-February of the following year).
Therefore, it is recommended to visit Dachang Island in the cool season, as the weather is the best! After all, the beautiful scenery of the island is set off by the beautiful weather~
How to get to Dachang Island
There are not many hotels on the island, and they are basically very good five-star hotels (by domestic standards...). However, because it is not a fully developed island, the cost-effectiveness of accommodation on the island is very high!
Similar to the services of five-star hotels, most hotels will have their own pick-up and drop-off services, but the hotel's charges will be relatively high.
So here I mainly recommend taking public transportation. How to get there?
If you depart from Phuket, Krabi and Phang Nga, there are two types of boats going back and forth: ferries and speedboats. The ferry is a relatively large ship, the speed is slow and steady, and the bottom of the ship can be parked; the speedboat sails fast and is bumpy.
For example: the ferry from Phuket to Da Chang Island takes about 1 hour, and the speedboat can reach it in about 30 minutes.
Bang Rong Pier: There are two types of boats: long-tail boats and speedboats. The boats start from 7.50 in the morning to 17.30 in the afternoon, and the boats depart about half an hour.
The speedboat departure time is: 07:40 / 08:40 / 09:15 / 09:40 / 10:30 / 11:30 / 12:30 / 13:15 / 14:30 / 15:00 / 16:00 / 17:00 / 17:30.
TIP. Personally, I suggest you take a speedboat. It’s faster, the smell of gasoline isn’t that strong, and you won’t be too exposed to the sun when you sit in it.
